Helen Chalmers

Helen studied Jewellery and Metal Design at Duncan of Jordanstone. Since graduating, she has built up her business and now creates her jewellery in her dedicated workshop in South Queensferry.

Helen specialises in the use of hot glass and supplementary materials created in an oxygen/propane mix flame with a technique known as 'lampworking'. It dates back to ancient Egypt, where oil lamps were the heat source. It has a rich history in Murano, Venice and has enjoyed a recent resurgence, especially in North America.

Helen loves making glass studs because it is so colourful and fun, and enjoys seeing and hearing from customers wearing them.
